11 families launch Bedford Christian Church at Bedford Boys Ranch

1968

1968

Bedford Christian Church moves into its first permanent location on Central Drive in Bedford.

1976

1976

Pioneer Bible Translators is launched through the vision of Bedford Christian Church Pastor Al Hamilton, beginning a specific plan to bring the Bible to every people group in the world.

1994

1994

Name is changed to Highland Meadows Christian Church as the church moves to six-acre property in Colleyville.

2002

2002

Lead Pastor Drew Sherman and his wife Michelle begin ministry at Highland Meadows.

2006

2006

The name is changed to Compass Christian Church to reflect the new vision of our multi-site strategy. Compass establishes the mission of Navigating People to God with a focus on four core values of Navigate, Serve, Engage, & Worship.

2008

2008

Compass Roanoke launches and begins meeting at Roanoke Elementary School.

2011

2011

Compass Center opens in Grapevine, creating space for more ministry for Compass Colleyville and events for the community.

2012

2012

Compass Fields opens in Colleyville, providing outdoor space for both Compass and the surrounding community.

2013

2013

Over 300 people accept Christ and are baptized at Compass. The first Meal Marathon occurs, resulting in over 500 kids being fed every day.

2014

2014

Compass gives over $1M to Outreach in one year for the first time. Compass Online launches providing an opportunity to navigate more people to God. 

2016

2016

Compass celebrates 50 years of Navigating People to God, focusing on trusting God with faith beyond the horizon. Compass Roanoke moves into a permanent facility off Hwy 114 in Roanoke and grows three-fold.

2017

With the support of the Elders and a bold trust in God, Compass North Richland Hills launches and begins meeting at the NRH Centre. Three months later Compass North Fort Worth launches and begins meeting at Eaton High School.

Compass Academy launches under the vision of Pastor Drew Sherman and Dr. Rob Maupin to train and develop leaders. 

2020

The world pressed pause, and the church pressed play. During the COVID-19 crisis, Compass joins with local outreach partners providing more than 4 million meals to families in need.

Compass North Fort Worth moves into a permanent location off of Hwy 287 in Haslet. The church approaches the future with an Unstoppable mindset & continues to Navigate People to God.

Lead Pastor Drew Sherman and wife, Michelle, celebrate 20 years of ministry at Compass.Compass Colleyville embarks on significant renovations to allow for future growth and navigating more people to God.
