You may have heard about the new Tutoring Program that Community Storehouse has developed, volunteers are tutoring children in grades 1st through 5th, focusing on skills in reading and math. Experience with tutoring is not necessary, as we have an accredited teacher on staff who assesses the children and creates a curriculum specifically for that child's needs. The only requirement is the desire to help these children have a successful academic career! Volunteers are vital to the success of this program, we hope we can count on you to help! Along with the rest of the world several safety precautions are in place.
Are you interested in partnering with Christ’s Haven in providing a safe, warm, & loving home for displaced children?
WE NEED YOU! By volunteering you are donating your time to help meet a tangible need that directly impacts the lives of the children and families we serve. We are excited about your interest in becoming a volunteer! Below is a list of opportunities.
GRACE is a Grapevine, Texas based nonprofit relief agency which provides food, clothing, financial assistance, and other vital necessities to people who are struggling with a limited income or recent emergency. This opportunity is not for everyone, but those who do have the calling and drive to assume the Back-Up Caregiver role will be offering vital help to CH and the blessed ministry that the Lord has tasked us with. GRACE is gearing up for its upcoming event Designer Bags & Bingo which is being held Sunday, May 7th, at Fidelity Investments in Westlake. This special event is a fundraiser that benefits the GRACE Transitional Housing program- a 2-year program that works with homeless individuals and families to help them move toward independence.
After the event, from 5 pm- about 8 is the tear-down, which is where we are needing some extra assistance.
We are thinking of having 25 young or able-body adults to help us with the following:
- Loading chairs and tables back into the GRACE Truck
- Helping to set up original tables and chairs according to the floor plan that GRACE staff will provide
- Tearing down decorations and other cleanup duties
